Overview:

As soon as I entered Melisse the hostess greeted me with a warm smile and offered to take my coat. The service throughout the meal was outstanding! My group and I ordered the 10 course tasting menu ($150), the portions were well sized and tasted incredible! I ordered the white truffle (alba) risotto, and the scent of the truffles left me wanting more! My friend ordered the Black Bass, with peruvian potatoes, red onions and green garlic. She continued to rave how well the ingredients blended together throughout the meal. I recommend Melisse to anyone looking for a true LA dining experience!

Overview:

The ambiance of the restaurant was romantic, candle lit tables, white cloth napkins, and soft music. I especially enjoyed the giraffe decorations covering the walls of the restaurant.

I began with the Tomato Tart, (fresh sprouts, sweet tomatoes, and cheese). My second course was the Loup de Mer, fresh fish with a flaky flesh. The sauce topped off the fish perfectly!

Even though the restaurant is fine dining, you are still allowed to dress casual.. after all it's Santa Monica!

Overview:

Upon entering Nobu the classy atmosphere immediately appealed to me. Fine dining has a tendency to be a bit overwhelming, yet the calm ambience made for a pleasant experience. I ordered the Salmon Tiradito Sashimi, on yuzu lemon and rocotto chili. The tenderness of the Salmon gave me a "melting in my mouth" sensation. For dessert I went with the Bento Box, a flourless chocolate cake accompanied with green tea ice cream. The wonderful cake made the perfect finale to my meal!

Overview:

The Apple Pan has a classic un-changed feel. I enjoyed stepping into a restaurant for a simple burger minus all of the fancy frills. I settled on the Hickory burger, served with a smoky hickory sauce and juicy beef patty. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy and the cheese was thickly sliced. For a classic burger and fast service, The Apple Pan is a safe bet.

Overview:

Cecconi's was a top notch Italian dining experience. The atmosphere was classy, and I especially enjoyed the plush blue sofa-like chairs. I began with a light salad, the grilled chicken, pancetta, apple & Parmigiano. This fresh salad was the perfect prelude to my main course, the 'Plin' agnolotti & black truffle pasta, which was exquisite! For a classy and cozy Italian evening, Cecconi's is your pick.
